St. Louis Congenital Heart Walk

This year, I’m walking with extra purpose as The Children’s Heart Foundation celebrates 30 incredible years of funding research that saves lives and changes futures. As a CHF staff member for the past two years, I’ve had the privilege of working alongside families impacted by congenital heart defects (CHDs). I’ve witnessed their worries, struggles, triumphs, and incredible joy. I’ve seen research in action and the difference it makes in the lives of Heart Warriors and the families who love them.

This mission is especially meaningful to me because I’m a Heart Warrior myself. I know what it means to grow up with a heart condition, and I’ll never forget that my mom once asked a doctor, “Is this my fault?” That question has stayed with me, reminding me of the fear and uncertainty families face when their child is diagnosed with a congenital heart defect. It’s one of the many reasons I believe so deeply in the work CHF does.

Over the past two years, I’ve fallen in love with this mission and the people behind it. I’ve loved sharing the stories of these incredible families, celebrating their milestones, and spreading awareness among my own family and friends. Being part of CHF has shown me just how much research matters—and how much more there is still to do.

As CHF celebrates 30 years of advancing the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of congenital heart defects through groundbreaking research, I’m proud to participate in the Congenital Heart Walk. This isn’t just a walk; it’s a stride toward the next 30 years of hope. It’s a commitment to improving survival rates, reducing complications, and helping Heart Warriors celebrate more birthdays and brighter futures.
