When you give directly to Storybook Farm, you help care for every horse in our barn by providing the feed, veterinary care, farrier care, medications, and daily attention they need to be healthy and ready to change childhoods. Children come to Storybook excited to see the horse they have come to think of as “theirs.” A child who once hung back now can’t wait to get into the barn, say hello to their horse, and get started riding. They may even volunteer to go first in Follow the Leader or try something new because their horse is right there with them. Each horse has a different personality and a different way of reaching a child so they begin doing things they might not have tried before.
