Come join "Team Neilio" in the fight against CJD!

We will be getting together Sat., Oct 3rd, at 10 am, at North Boundary Park in Cranberry Twp to walk in honor of Neil and his ongoing battle with CJD and to raise much needed awareness and funds for CJD and other prion diseases.

A $10 donation for adults, $5 for kids under 12, would be appreciated. You can donate ahead of time on this link, or in person. We ask that you wear a mask, and practice social  distancing.

Wear your purple and bring a friend! We plan to walk rain or shine, unless 2020 sends us a crazy weather situation (raining frogs, sharknado...).  In that case, we will do a raindate on Oct. 10th!

Creutzfeld Jakobs Disease (CJD), is a terminal neurodegenerative disease with no cure.  It is a rapidly progressing disease.  80-90% of people diagnosed die within 6 months to a year from the onset of the symptoms. 

Neil is beating the odds!

This disease has left Neil no longer able to walk, struggling to talk, and unable to do all the daily tasks we take for granted.  It has caused him to have short term memory loss, but he remembers, and loves to hear about, his mischievous past.  Neil has always been a very social person, and even though he struggles with conversation, he still loves visits, and a laugh, with friends and family, whether online or in person.  (Socially distanced of course!)

 This is our second year as "Team Neilio" for the  Strides for CJD fundraiser.  Last year we had a great team of friends and family join us at the walk in South Park.  It was an awesome event hosted by Team Golden in honor of their husband/father. Thanks to our generous families and friends, we were able to surpass our fundraising goal of $5,000!  We will miss seeing all the great people we met last year! 

This year, I have raised our total goal to $6,000, and I'm confident that we can again surpass it!  If we get $1,000 by August 21st, we can have a dedication included on the commemorative t-shirt given to each participant.
