My Dad - My Hero

This year we are finally able to host a Celebration of Life for dad and hero.  We lost our dad to CJD two years ago on 3/4/20 and were not able to Celebrate his Life and Legacy due to COVID restrictions.  We will be celebrating all the goodness our dad brought into this world on August 27th, two days before his birthday and have asked that any monetary gifts be donated to the CJD Foundation in his loving memory.  Please consider giving so that other families will not have to witness their loved ones succumb to this cruel and debilitating disease that is 100% fatal.   We love and miss you dad, and will not let your death and those who have been afflicted by this disease be forgotten.  We have sounded a battle call and are proud to be your crusaders here on earth!   Join our team and consider ordering a tee-shirt as dad's name will be imprinted on it.  Make a donation, encourage others to do so, and continue to pray for a cure.

About Strides for CJD

Strides for CJD is an annual walk/run to raise awareness of Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease (CJD), a rare neurodegenerative disease that has no treatment or cure. Through this event, anyone -- anywhere -- can pay tribute to their loved ones and raise funds for the CJD Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization.

Funds raised support our programs including:

  • Our 24/7 helpline, support groups, conference, and other family programs throughout the year.
  • Research grants to help scientists make important discoveries and bring us closer to a cure.
  • Medical education to help raise awareness and understanding of prion disease.
