Why I'm Walking

Help!!!!  I have six days left to raise and hopefuly surpass my $500.00 goal for the CJD Foundation and Neil!!!  Christine and Neil ALWAYS supported me financially for my charity events, and even walked with me on my MS Pittsburgh walk, which meant the world!  Unfortunately, three years ago, Neil was given the devasting diagnosis of CJD, and Christine is now his round the clock care taker, and full time nurse. 

Neil and Christine's strength has been indescribable, and I want to support them both the way they have always supported me, and I'm asking all my friends and family to help me raise funds to help end this awful disease.  Please, please, please, any amount is fantastic, but I'd love to be able to blow that $500.00 goal right out of the freaking water!!!!!!  Neil has the biggest heart, and this illness has been so tough for him to endure.  If you'd like to help by donating, just follow the link/page.  And if anyone is interested in walking with us on October 8th, all are welcome!!!  Thanks so much, and I love you all!!!!  Thank you, thank you, thank you!

About Strides for CJD

Strides for CJD is an annual walk/run to raise awareness of Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease (CJD), a rare neurodegenerative disease that has no treatment or cure. Through this event, anyone -- anywhere -- can pay tribute to their loved ones and raise funds for the CJD Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization.

Funds raised support our programs including:

  • Our 24/7 helpline, support groups, conference, and other family programs throughout the year.
  • Research grants to help scientists make important discoveries and bring us closer to a cure.
  • Medical education to help raise awareness and understanding of prion disease.
