Our Team Fundraising Page
Each year that passes is different without him here. This is our third year to participate in Strides and we miss him just as much as we did the first year! He is always in our hearts and I feel that he is with us in spirit and cheering us on from Heaven. We're unable to forget his sense of humor, kindness and love, and the invaluable words of wisdom he left us with; nor, would we ever want to. He was our amazing father and our mom's devoted husband and we couldn't be more proud of that!
Our dad was smart, creative, loving, giving, encouraging, fun, a strong believer in Jesus Christ, a traveler, a coach, a dancer (at times), a reader, a world events enthusiasts, a teacher of the Bible and of life. He was amazing. He was a great dad and husband...there just aren't enough words to describe him or our love for him. He left this world on October 5, 2019. We miss him more than anyone can imagine!
Although CJD is considered a rare disease, we know there are many other families in the metroplex who have been affected by this tragic diagnosis. Being part of Strides4CJD is one way that we can bring awareness, raise funds, and connect with other families who want and need support or community regarding this shared experience.
We look forward to seeing friends and family at Strides if they are able. If not, a donation, words of encouragement, or prayers for the families affected would be greatly appreciated. Funds donated are used for research grants to find a cause and cure of this horrible disease as well as educational conferences and family support efforts.
Thank you so much caring about this event - it means so much to our family!

About Strides for CJD
Strides for CJD is an annual walk/run to raise awareness of Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease (CJD), a rare neurodegenerative disease that has no treatment or cure. Through this event, anyone -- anywhere -- can pay tribute to their loved ones and raise funds for the CJD Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization.
Funds raised support our programs including:
- Our 24/7 helpline, support groups, conference, and other family programs throughout the year.
- Research grants to help scientists make important discoveries and bring us closer to a cure.
- Medical education to help raise awareness and understanding of prion disease.
