We'll probably never know the answer to "Why Jerry?".  Nor will we probably ever know Why for any other victims of sporadic CJD.  It's a horrible disease that comes out of nowhere, grabs unsuspecting people and destroys their brains in a matter of a few weeks.  I lost Jerry after 44 years together (since I was 15 years old).  Our two boys, Brian and Mark, lost their dad.  Alice, Carol, Chuck and Marty lost their brother.  And many nieces, nephews and dear dear friends lost him too.  No, it's not fair, but lilfe isn't fair.  We must go on to find a cure for this disease so that someday in the future others will not have to bear this loss and sadness.
