Why We Stride

At the Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease (CJD)  Foundation, CJD and other prion diseases are near to our hearts as we work to support families affected by Prion Disease, raise awareness, and support medical education and research through education and information, advocacy, an annual Family Conference, Family Workshops, collaboration with the research community, clinicians, medical centers, health authorities, professional organizations, and international patient associations; communication of current research, and a research grant program.

CJD is caused by “prions,” proteins that can misfold in the brain, with devastating effects, including rapid mental and physical deterioration.  CJD is the most common of the “prion diseases.”  Prion diseases are invariably fatal.

Our work is not limited to inside our office.  Would you consider walking/running with us and/or donating to further our mission to #CureCJD?

We are walking on Saturday, October 12 at Water Works Park (Penninsula Shleter), 2025 Munroe Falls Avenue, Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44221.  Registration is at 9:00am, and the walk starts at 10:00am.  Please join us for #Strides4CJD 2019!
