Our father, Charles W Hildenbrand died from CJD at the age of 64, two years after he retired.  He walked me down the aisle at my wedding June 28, 1997 started to have a few symptoms during the summer, and  went downhill fast between October and November.  Surrounded by family, he died Novemner 16.  It was awful seeing the quick progression of this horrible disease.  Doctors had many misdiagnoses and his condition was finally confirmed with a brain biopsy two weeks before he died.  There was nothing they could do.  

By participating in the walk, fundraising and helping with this Strides for CJD event, I hope to raise money to find a cure, find ways to prevent this awful disease and hopefully prevent other families from having to go through what we endured.
