Our Team Fundraising Page

Our aunt Rosie and my uncle René (Rodolfo's father) both passed away from Creutzfeld Jacobs Disease (CJD) in the last 9 years. This year, our family is walking in San Diego on October 5th and our Uncle Glenn (Rosie's husband) has set up a fundraiser for the CJD Foundation.

Rosie and René had CJD, a rare neurodegenerative disease that has no treatment or cure. Each year, Strides for CJD raises money for medical education and research to one day find a cure. There is currently a treatment in human trials that was made possible thanks to donations to the CJD Foundation, the org behind Strides for CJD. Now’s the time to increase funding to get us closer to a cure and provide hope for many.

Although we cannot travel to San Diego for the walk, we are encouraging our friends and family here in Portland, Oregon to walk with us on September 29th here in Tigard.

Love, Juan Guillermo and Rodolfo

About Strides for CJD

Strides for CJD is an annual walk/run to raise awareness of Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease (CJD), a rare neurodegenerative disease that has no treatment or cure. Through this event, anyone -- anywhere -- can pay tribute to their loved ones and raise funds for the CJD Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization.

Funds raised support our programs including:

  • Our 24/7 helpline, support groups, conference, and other family programs throughout the year.
  • Research grants to help scientists make important discoveries and bring us closer to a cure.
  • Medical education to help raise awareness and understanding of prion disease.
