Tim passed on to heaven on 6/3/22 at the age of 54. CJD took him from us way too soon. Tim always had a way to find the good in any situation. He was a problem solver, a “think-outside-the-box” kind of person who never took things too seriously. His legacy is one of integrity, respect, hard work, and dedication to family.
In 2009 Tim was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. He was able to live a good life despite the setbacks MS handed him. He was doing fantastic and was able to work and be involved in the lives of our 3 children.
In March of 2022, Tim started feeling a bit “off”. He first complained of blurry vision and his hearing was muffled. He started to get more agitated and frustrated. In April 2022 Tim was starting to have difficulty walking. He went into the hospital on 4/22/22. We thought it was an MS flare-up. After several MRIs, the doctors determined that his ailments were not an MS flare-up. He was discharged from the hospital on 5/11/22 without a diagnosis. On 5/18/22 the doctor came to our house to deliver the diagnosis of CJD Disease. He lived another 16 days knowing what his fate was.
Like many people, I had never heard of this disease and did some research to find out it affects “one in a million people”. It seems to affect those people in this world who are “one in a million” people. Tim was just that. He was a person of great strength, intellect, and importance….a Titan. That is why we chose to name our team Tim’s Titans.
We are ready to work together with all the other families who have lost their loved ones to help raise awareness for funding research to better understand CJD Disease and maybe provide hope for the future.
Thank you for your support.
