This October 3, I'll be participating in the inaugural Cincinnati Strides for CJD as part of The Beachcombers, a team created in memory of my mom, Doris.
In 2003, our family lost Mom to Creutzfeldt–Jakob disease (CJD), a rare, rapidly progressive, and always fatal brain disease. Like many families, we had never heard of CJD until it touched our lives.
When I learned that Brooke Thacker was organizing the first local Strides for CJD, I knew I wanted to be part of it. This walk is an opportunity to honor my mom's memory, raise awareness of this devastating disease, and support research that brings hope to families facing CJD today.
If you're able, I'd be grateful for your support—whether through a donation, sharing my page, or simply helping spread awareness about CJD. Thank you for helping us remember Doris and work toward a future without this disease.
