Almost 8 years ago, CJD stole my cousin… but to me, she was so much more than my cousin. She was my best friend, my person, my family, and a piece of my heart that will never be replaced.
Every year we come together to honor her beautiful life and raise money so that one day no other family has to experience the heartbreak that ours has.
Not a day goes by that I don’t think of her. I still see her beautiful smile, hear her laugh, and feel her spirit beside me. Time has passed, but love doesn’t fade. If anything, it grows stronger. I carry her with me in everything I do, and I always will.
CJD is a cruel disease that can strike anyone, at any time. While researchers are making progress, there is still no cure. That’s why every donation matters. Every dollar brings hope. Every person who shares our mission helps keep that hope alive.
