Thank you for visiting our fundraising page for Team Marianne, where we are seeking to raise funds and awareness for our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, daugther, and friend via the Strides for CJD walk. Unfortunately, we lost our precious Marianne prematurely on February 3, 2024, after she couragaously battled a rare degenerative neurological disease, Creutzfeld-Jakob Disease (CJD). Like many of you, we had never heard of CJD before the fateful diagnosis. Currently, this devasating disease has no treatment or cure. We hope to spread awareness to families in situations like ours so that this isolating disease isn't so lonely for both the patient and loved ones, and even more importantly, we hope to help fund research so this isn't a catastrophic diagnosis for other families in the future. We can only do so with your support, for which we are incrediblly appreciative. Funds from this event will go toward the CJD Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization, to provide family support, medical education, and reseach programs.
