Dr. Luke (Buddy) Baxley, Sr. was one of the best. A fantastic dad, doctor, and friend. At the age of 49, he began having neurological symptoms and our worst fear was confirmed when he was diagnosed with a hereditary, terminal disease that four generations before him had succumbed to - Gerstmann-Straussler-Scheinker disease. After a long and awful disease course, he passed away at the age of 59. Sixteen years later, although promising treatments may be on the horizon, there is still no cure. 

Strides for CJD is a fundraising walk that the CJD Foundation established that takes place every year in many locations throughout the US. This year, we have a walk in our very own James Island County Park! Let's get together, support each other, walk together, and raise funds to help find a cure! Please sign up to attend and/or donate if you can. Let's do it in honor of my dad, myself, and all of the other people just like us.  

Donations of $250 and above are considered sponsorships.

• Gold: $1,000
• Silver: $500
• Bronze: $250

Premier, Diamond, and Platinum Sponsors will have their name or logo* displayed on participant T-shirts, the Strides for CJD website, and signage. Gold Sponsors will have their name or logo* displayed on the Strides for CJD website, and will have their name (not their logo) listed on participant T-shirts and signage. Silver and Bronze Sponsors will have their name listed on the Strides for CJD website only.

The deadline for Sponsors' names (individuals) or logos (companies) to appear on participant t-shirts is Sunday, August 9th at 11:59pm Eastern time. Sponsorships made after the sponsorship deadline will have their name or logo* displayed on the Strides for CJD website only.
