Our 26th Annual Strut for Strays is a hybrid event this year, with a kickoff and in-person walk at McGrath Evanston Subaru or do your own walk at a time/place of your choosing!
Those who would like to Strut with other C.A.R.E.™ supporters and also celebrate Subaru Loves Pets month can join us at McGrath Evanston Subaru on the morning of October 2. We’ll walk 2.5 miles on the Northshore Sculpture Path.
For those who are remote or don’t want to gather, you can do your own virtual walk between October 2 - October 9. Pick up your swag at the October 2 event or on October 9 at the C.A.R.E. Adoption Center, or choose to have your swag shipped to you.

Help us meet our goal of raising $20,000 for homeless pets!

C.A.R.E. helped re-home 349 pets in a year's time during the pandemic at a total cost of more than $100,000 (it costs at least $300 to prepare just one pet for adoption).

Additionally, C.A.R.E.'s Pet Food Pantry has grown exponentially during the economic downturn to help pet owners in need keep their pets at home.

WHO IS INVITED
Everyone! The great thing about a hybrid in-person/virtual event is that everyone can participate from anywhere! Adopted a C.A.R.E. pet but moved away? You can register and then walk in your own neighborhood!

Virtual Walk in your own neighborhood and we’ll ship your Strut Swag to you!
*Goodie Bags guaranteed to the first 200 registrants. Every registrant will get a red shirt featuring the Strut logo.
FUNDRAISING PROGRAM
All participants are encouraged to register as Fundraising Participants and create a page, with the goal of raising enough money to sponsor one or more dogs, cats, kittens or puppies. The average cost for veterinary care for adult dogs and cats is $300, $500 for puppies and kittens.
You can also create a team and invite your friends to join and fundraise for your team. The team with the most money raised wins a prize (details TBD).
STRUT WITH US ON OCTOBER 2
Pick up your Strut Goodie Bag and T-shirt at one of our events. These events will take place outdoors.

If you’re not local, choose the shipping option at registration. Strut Swag will be mailed out after the event.
WHERE IS THE WALK?
Join us for a group walk on October 2 at McGrath Evanston Subaru. Or do your own VIRTUAL walk in your own neighborhood or park. Or if you come to the Strut Swag Pickup on October 9, you can walk on your own at the nearby path.
WHEN IS THE WALK?
The group walk is Saturday, October 2 at 9:30 am. Or you can walk any time or day between Saturday, October 2 and Saturday, October 9.

SOCIAL MEDIA CONTEST
Register and share photos of your Strut on social media or by email. Use #CARESTRUT2021 on your public posts, or email your photos to strut@CAREnorthshore.org to be entered into our raffle for local business gift certificates. One entry per post or email. Emailed images will be posted on C.A.R.E. Social Media (without your personal info).
TEAM FUNDRAISING PRIZE
The team that raises the most money by Saturday, October 9, wins a team prize of $150 Gift Certificate to Village Inn in Skokie.
*The fundraising contest ends at 11:59 pm CDT Saturday, October 9.
