Strut for Strays Fundraiser for Community Animal Rescue Effort (C.A.R.E.)
My C.A.R.E. Story
Many of you know how much I love animals. I recently became a volunteer for Community Animal Rescue Effort (C.A.R.E.), a nonprofit that cares for and helps dogs and cats find loving homes. I’m helping C.A.R.E. raise funds through one of their major fundraisers, Strut for Strays, both a physical and virtual walk in October. Funds raised will help C.A.R.E. provide support to many homeless animals. I am currently fostering Elsa, a sweet little terrier. She came to C.A.R.E. after she had been found wandering the streets of Chicago during July 4th weekend. She arrived shaking and terrified. Through the love and support of C.A.R.E.’s team of wonderful volunteers, Elsa started to trust again and her sweet personality started to blossom. I was one of the volunteers that cared for Elsa and fell in love with her. Mal and I are now fostering her and plan to adopt her. She is now at our home and enjoys exploring the backyard and walking with her two older brothers. Riley and Fritz. If you’re able to support this wonderful organization, I appreciate it.
