5400 Williamson County Students receive free/reduced lunches (and sometimes breakfast) at school. When school is out for the summer many of them don’t have enough to eat. Other costs force families to stretch their meager dollars to cover higher utility bills and childcare expenses. With your help through our Summer Relief Campaign, families will receive food and utility assistance. Your summer support is so important because giving typically goes down during the summer but the needs of many neighbors go up. We are hoping friends of GraceWorks will join our Summer Relief campaign. Our goal is to raise $30,000.
Hi! My name is Emily Carr and I am an upcoming senior at Tennessee Tech! My major is Nutrition and Dietetics, and I hope to become a Registered Dietician one day. I am really passionate about serving Jesus and bringing him glory while loving other people in the process of doing that. One way that I love to serve is by helping those in need. Despite the fact that Williamson County is currently the whealthiest county in Tennessee, there are thousands of kids who go hungry over the summer because they are no longer receiving school meals. Lack of adequate nutrition is very damaging to a child's intellectual, psychological, and emotional development. One thing that I have learned at Tennessee Tech is that a hungry child cannot grow & learn. By ensuring that the children in our communities are properly nourished all through out the year, we can increase their sucess in the classroom and in extra cirricular activities. I joined the Summer Relief Campaign because I have a heart for children and the thought of them suffering hurts my heart. Here is where I need your help! In order to make sure that these kids are properly taken care of we need the funds to do so. I would ask you to prayerfullly consider partnering with grace works to take care of the next generation and the people in our community who are in the most need.
