Dear Friends,
This spring, I’m participating in the Swim A Mile | Move A Mile for Women with Cancer to raise funds for the Women's Cancer Resource Center—and I hope you'll consider a contribution!
For 40 years, WCRC has been a resource for local women and families navigating cancer, providing free services like practical support, connections to care, and a place to feel understood. These services make a real difference for over 900 East Bay cancer patients and survivors WCRC serves each year.
Cancer is something that touches so many lives. My dear Aunt Helen died in 2022 from breast cancer despite a double mastectomy when I was a child. Her husband, my dear Uncle Bob, died of cancer when I was in high school. From the most recent new friend who I met at Chrismas who fell ill and died of metastasized cancer a month later to loved ones who passed long ago, cancer is known for the toll it takes on the body, mind, friends, and family.
Still, the stories of survival are important as well. My Aunt Helen survived and thrived for 50 years after her first cancer. Countless friends tell me about their cancer journeys with joy about overcoming. Through it all, WCRC supports women with cancer and their families. WCRC ensures that no one has to navigate it alone, and I’m proud to support their work. I hope you will join me.
