Swim for Sally 2018

I will be swimming again this year to help raise funds for our Y's Building What Matters Campaign. All donations will go towards the build of an ADA accessible locker room which will be named in memory of my dear friend Sally Schenkman. Sally passed away unexpectedly last May from a brain aneurism. Her loving and caring personality had a positive and lasting effect on everyone who knew her. She always brightened my day with her big smile and warm hugs (always given when we were out of the pool water).

I am honored again to be swimming for Sally but this year I am adding an even more personal goal. My sister Meghan Hill also passed away unexpectedly this past July from a massive stroke. She was the same age as Sally (55) and also inspired and touched many lives by the way she lived her own. She lived her life in a wheelchair since the age of 18. A car accident broke her lower back and she became a paraplegic. It never, ever slowed her down and she lived a full life (work, marriage, two beautiful children and one adorable grandson). Her outgoing personality overshadowed the wheelchair and she never let anyone feel sorry for her.

This year I will match every penny I receive and make a donation to the Life Rolls On foundation in memory of my sister (they provide programs for young people affected by spinal cord injuries).
Your donation will have double the power to improve the lives of those who are impacted by disabilities.

I am looking forward to my swim for Sally & Meg on Saturday October 20th!
