Thank you so much for taking a moment to visit my fundraising page.
This year, I am walking for my son, Lennox James.
Lennox was born on March 12, 2020, with a complex congenital heart defect called Hypoplastic Right Heart Syndrome, including pulmonary atresia and tricuspid stenosis. From the very beginning, being a “Heart Warrior” was simply part of his story.
Before most babies ever leave the newborn stage, Lennox had already undergone his first open-heart surgery. A second followed when he was just six months old. Over the next six years, his heart journey included countless appointments, tests, procedures, hospital stays, medications, difficult decisions, and more strength than any child should ever have to show.
But Lennox was so much more than his diagnosis.
He was our sweet, curly-haired boy with the chubby cheeks and beautiful smile. He loved Paw Patrol, Toy Story, Disney movies, being outside, and absolutely anything involving water. He brought so much love, laughter, and personality into our lives.
On July 27, 2026, we lost Lennox at just six years old.
So this year, when I participate in the Congenital Heart Walk, every step will be for him.
It will be for the surgeries that gave us six years with our boy.
It will be for the doctors, nurses, researchers, and medical advances that allowed him to grow, play, smile, love, and become the unforgettable little person he was.
And it will be for the children who are being born with congenital heart defects today, and the families who desperately want more birthdays, more first days of school, more family vacations, more ordinary afternoons, and simply more time.
This year also marks 30 years of The Children’s Heart Foundation funding research that saves lives and changes futures. That research has helped improve the diagnosis and treatment of congenital heart defects and has contributed to advances that allow more Heart Warriors to survive and thrive.
But there is still so much work to be done.
I am fundraising in Lennox’s memory because I want his heart journey to continue making a difference, even though his own journey ended far too soon. I want the lessons learned from children like Lennox to help create better treatments, fewer complications, stronger hearts, and longer lives for the children who come after him.
If you are able, I would be incredibly grateful for a donation to support The Children’s Heart Foundation and the research they fund.
Every dollar represents hope.
Hope for better treatments.
Hope for safer surgeries.
Hope for fewer complications.
Hope for more birthdays.
And for me, every step of this walk will carry the memory of one extraordinary six-year-old Heart Warrior who changed my life forever.
Forever in our hearts, Lennox James. ❤️?
Thank you for supporting me, remembering Lennox, and helping us fight for the futures of children living with congenital heart defects.
