Why I'm Doing This For Sacred Paws

One of the reasons I (Taylor) care so deeply about helping people create more wealth is because of what becomes possible when good people have more resources. The three areas where I want my money to do the most good are helping people, helping animals, and helping the land. Sacred Paws Dog Sanctuary beautifully brings all three together.

Founded by Alyssa Blackwell, Sacred Paws is a 501c3 nonprofit that has already helped 73 dogs, with a goal of helping 1,000 find their forever homes. Alyssa's vision is to move into a bigger space where she can help more dogs, while hosting community events that support people with their mental health through engaging with the dogs, and care for the land with eco-friendly practices. 

To me, that's what wealth is really about. Not just what it creates for us, but what it allows us to create for others. Every purchase and donation this month is a chance to wield the power your money holds, and create more stewardship, nourishment, and circulation of resources in the world.

Tater helps heal broken hearts

Tater Tot was born in a landfill in Tijuana, Mexico, before making her way into our care at just eight weeks old. She got her name because she was TINY and potato shaped. Our neighbors had lost their beloved dog the week before and told us that Tater was the only thing making them smile. When she was available for adoption, we got SO CLOSE to adopting her out elsewhere, before my neighbor said to her husband "I'll never forgive you if you don't get me Tater for christmas" and we planned a whole elaborate scheme with her husband, Tater was her Christmas present and remains her most precious gift to this day (3 years later). These are the kinds of stories we love to share!

Spud, our beloved mascot, is a beautiful example of the work we do to help neglected and abused dogs get back on their feet and find their forever home. Spud came to us so emaciated you could see all of his ribs, covered in fleas and ticks, with a smashed in nose and was barely surviving. Swipe to see the handsome, healthy, and happy boy he is now!

After surviving for 3 years on the streets, eating out of trash cans, Spud is so happy to finally be a house pet! He loves to be little spoon with his foster mom Alyssa. And now is the mascot for Sacred Paws, he goes around town meeting people and showing that even the ones that seem too far gone can still find their happily ever after

After having his nose smooshed while living on the streets, and only being able to breathe through a pin-hole sized airway in one nostril, Spud likes to blow bubbles through it. The watermelon collar is to keep him from licking his incision post-neutering

From left to right, Magnolia, Dudley & his twin brother Spud. A few weeks after we welcomed Spud, his brother Dudley joined the pack and all are healing with us at the moment. The goal is to move to a bigger space where we are permitted to help 10-15 dogs at a time. Your support helps make this happen! We are ready and excited to help more of Spud & Dudley's friends that are still out there waiting for help!

These sisters (Sacred Paws rescues number 71 & 72) were found abandoned at such a young age. Sacred Paws took them in, gave them a safe place to grow, got them vetting, and found wonderful loving homes. Fern was adopted by her foster mom!

Thank you so much for your donation. Without incredible donors like you, Sacred Paws couldn't help the dogs we help. Ones that have been overlooked, forgotten, and often hurt at the hands of humans. We take in dogs that otherwise wouldn't make it. We rehabilitate them, teach them how to walk on a leash/potty outside/trust humans again, and my physcial therapist husband helps them if they've lost a limb or need additional support. 

These dogs are our children. We love them like you love your pets. They sleep next to us. They go everywhere with us. Your donations make it possible to save them.

And our next adventure is moving to a larger piece of land where we can help 10-15 dogs at a time, while also offering spaces for people to interact with dogs for their own mental health. The dogs win, the people win, everyone wins. And it's all thanks to you.
