Running for a Cause: Empower the Next Generation!

Team JA New York is a passionate community of runners committed to empowering the next generation through education. By participating in the TCS New York City Marathon, our runners raise funds to support Junior Achievement of New York’s mission—providing over 88,000 students across New York City, Long Island, and the Lower Hudson Valley with critical financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and career readiness programs.

Every dollar raised helps equip young people with the knowledge and skills they need to build a brighter future. Your support ensures that students—many from underserved communities—gain access to hands-on learning experiences that prepare them for success in college, careers, and beyond.

By donating to Team JA New York, you’re not just supporting a runner—you’re investing in the next generation of leaders, innovators, and entrepreneurs. Join us in making a lasting impact.

About the Race

The TCS New York City Marathon brings together people from all backgrounds and communities through the transformative power of running. The race began in 1970 as four-plus loops of Central Park, and in 1976 it became a five-borough event that set the blueprint for big-city marathons around the world. The course takes runners over the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge from Staten Island to Brooklyn, then through Queens, Manhattan, the Bronx, and back into Manhattan to finish in Central Park.

The TCS New York City Marathon is not only the best day in New York City, but on Sunday, November 1st, 2026, the 5-Borough race became the world’s largest marathon ever with ~57,000 total finishers. Runners were cheered on by over 2 million spectators and supported by 10,000 volunteers on an ideal running day.
