It's marathon season again!

My name is Jorge L. Toledo, a survivor of 1,775 days of arbitrary, and illegal detention in Venezuela. I'm back in training for the Marine Corps Marathon on October 26, 2025. 

This year, as similar as last year, I am honored to run for the James W. Foley Foundation, advocating for hostage-taking prevention, and hostage release. My advocacy spans wrongful detainees, political prisoners, human rights, and democracy preservation. Running the Marine Corps Marathon 2025 will raise funds for the foundation and spread awareness about Hostage Diplomacy, a critical global issue.

Furthermore, the work of the James W. Foley Foundation supporting the families of hostages, working directly with government officials, pro bono partners, and victims to end their ordeal, is critical.

Marathons mirror life's challenges - requiring strategy, planning, execution, clear objectives, and milestones. They demand determination, perseverance, resilience, endurance, focus, faith, and hope. The correlation between running a marathon and my survival journey is profound.
