This year, I joined the Associate Board of New Moms, a social impact nonprofit in Chicago that exists to interrupt the cycle of poverty and create strong families. Their mission is to share the love of God by surrounding young moms and their children with the resources they need to transform their lives, specifically focusing on transitional housing, workforce development, jobs, and family services.
I will be leading a Kid Carnival with Team New Moms at its Austin P.O.W.E.R. 5K on September 28, a yearly race put on by the organization to raise funds for its programs and to support the local community. New Moms and its dedicated staff work tirelessly to provide its families with critical resources and skills - often taken for granted - to promote independence and family stability.

$25 can support diapers and formula for 1 family a week
$55 can support 1 night of housing for a young mom and her child
$115 can support 1 month of one month of unlimited transportation for a participant, removing barriers for her to travel to New Moms Job Training program - a social enterprise - and access to childcare for her family
$450 can fund a baby shower for our prenatal support group, Moms-to-Be!
