At the age of 17, I birthed a healthy 6lb 15oz baby boy. As the nurse handed me my son, I cradeled him in my arms. We locked eyes and I promised my son to be the best mother I could be.  From that day forward, I challenged myself more than ever to be successful in all aspects of my life because it was no longer just about me. I have never bought into society's view of me being a young mother. I had a community that supported me every step of the way similar to New Mom's Inc. I  stumbled upon New Mom's Inc at their Annual Christmas Party for the young women when I was voluntold by a friend. I must say that I was very impressed by the support provided to the young mothers and their children. Later, I reached out to their President & CEO Laura Zumdahl who was very approachable to learn more about the organization. Today, I am a proud Associate Board member and volunteer attempting to make an impact on young mothers with similar experiences.
