Being a mom is the most important and rewarding role in my life however, it can also be the most challenging at times and I cannot imagine experiencing this without having your most basic needs being met.  Imagine the struggles moms face when they don't have a stable roof over their heads, food for their children, diapers, formula, or family support.  This is why I have decided to join New Moms and I am passionate about their mission. They provide stable housing, job training, and family support for young moms in the Austin neighborhood of Chicago. 

At New Moms, 100% of the young moms who access their services live in extreme poverty. 63% come from homes where their mothers were teen parents. They are caught in a generational cycle of poverty. When we invest in women and their children we are helping to interrupt that cycle.

$25 can support diapers and formula for 1 family for a week.

$55 can support 1 night of housing for a young mom and her child.

$115 can support 1 month of unlimited transportation for a participant, removing barriers for her to travel to our job training program and access childcare for her family.

$450 can fund a baby shower for our prenatal support group of moms-to-be.
