Hello!
This October I'll be running in my fourth Chicago Marathon with Team Our Lady of the Angels! My continued desire to participate in this annual event is fueled by two joys:
1) The Joy of seeing the Holy Spirit alive and at work at Mission OLA.
2) The Joy of Running.
Mission OLA is an extension of the love of Christ to one of the most impoverished areas of the US. Located on the west-side of Chicago, the Mission OLA feeds over 4000 families each month through their local food pantry.
Occassionally , seminarians from Mundelein leave the comforts of their wooded, grassy, quiet university grounds to support the Fransiscan Sisters in their monthly food pantries. Mission OLA has held a warm place in my heart in and throughout my 6-7 years at Mundelein Seminary. More info about the Mission at www.missionola.com.
Signing up to run 26 miles gives me an excuse to re-visit this special place after I graduate from Mundelein and move back to Atlanta! Lastly, this event gives me motivation to return to distance running - a hobby I've enjoyed for many years. Cheers!

Funds raised from Team OLA 2024 will be used to:
(1) Help the Mission expand its food pantry + other material distributions
-Mission of Our Lady of the Angels currently serves about 4400 families a month- and growing!
-Help the Mission continue to expand and improve this outreach.
(2) Help the Mission renovate an additional convent for more sisters!
-We need a separate convent for our young sisters in formation
-This renovation project is essential to the future expansion of our material and spiritual outreach. Additional details about the project will be released once they are available!
