Quiero compartir un poco de mi historia con la Mission de Nuestra Señora de los Angeles. Conoci de la Mision hace dos años cuando me ayudaron a discernir la voluntad de Dios. En pocas palabras estaba entre entrar al seminario para estudiar para ser sacerdote o seguir estudiando en la universidad para ser igeniero. Gracias a su apoyo y sus oraciones estoy en camino en ser el primero de familia en graduarse de ingeniero de la Universidad de San Tomas. Esta es mi primera vez en correr un marathon. Mi propósito es en agradecimiento a Dios y del Equipo de OLA por todo el trabajo que hacen.
I want to share a little of my story with the Mission of Our Lady of the Angels. I met the Mission two years ago when they helped me discern God's will. In short, I was between entering the seminary to study to be a priest or continuing to study at the university to be an engineer. Thanks to your support and prayers, I am on my way to being the first in my family to graduate from the University of Saint Thomas. This is my first time running a marathon. My purpose is to thank God and the OLA Team for all the work they do.
I'm running the 2024 Bank of America Chicago to support Mission of Our Lady of the Angels!
Mission of Our Lady of the Angels exists to provide material and spiritual support to W. Humboldt Park, Chicago- one of the most challenged neighborhoods in the US. The Mission feeds about 4400 families a month, provides additional material and pastoral support to families, youth, and senior citizens, and, most importantly, brings the love of Christ to a neighborhood desperately in need of hope. Funds raised from Team OLA 2024 will be used to:
(1) Help the Mission expand its food pantry + other material distributions
-Mission of Our Lady of the Angels currently serves about 4400 families a month- and growing!
-Help the Mission continue to expand and improve this outreach.
(2) Help the Mission renovate an additional convent for more sisters!
-We need a separate convent for our young sisters in formation
-This renovation project is essential to the future expansion of our material and spiritual outreach. Additional details about the project will be released once they are available!
