Why I'm Hiking

A new year means I’m taking on a new challenge to help empower Malawian mothers living on less than $1 per day to start businesses, provide for their families, and send their children to school to break the cycle of poverty.

Next up: hiking the Grand Canyon! This one-day 14-mile roundtrip hike will take nearly 10 hours to complete and cover a 5,000-foot descent and ascent of elevation change in the canyon. The challenge will be sure to test my endurance, so I need your support!

Thank you to those who have previously donated to my NYC Marathon, Mt. Kilimanjaro, and Chicago Marathon journeys! Because of your support, women like Alinafe (pictured to the right) have the opportunity to receive the skills, training, materials, and support needed to transform their family’s lives for generations to come.
