I believe in the transformative power of art. Having access to professional teaching artists, arts education, and the tools to creatively express one self can be life changing. Especially for a child in the hospital, having creative freedom can be empowering and inspiring. 

I never took advantage of the creative opportunities presented to me growing up and didn't realize my brain was craving that form of expression until much later in life. Making art and being a part of the arts community has allowed me to find myself and be myself. Now I've devoted my life to providing access to these types of opportunities for others. 

Youth in the hospital are a vulnerable population that deserve to have the same opportunities as others. This is why I'm running in the 5K Hot Chocolate Race to support Snow City Arts, an organization that acts as a mindful guide for self discovery and creative expression.
