As many of you know, a couple years ago I joined the Auxiliary Board of an amazing organization - Snow City Arts. This organization provides arts education to over 1,000 children a year, who are in the hospital for short and long-term stays. Snow City Arts turns their time to heal into a time to learn, providing these students with instruction in creative writing, music, visual arts, filmmaking, and theater. Each arts-based workshop is bench-marked to state and federal learning standards and can be used for classroom credit, helping these students remain in-step with their peers.

To support the efforts of Snow City Arts, this year I am running the 15k Hot Chocolate Race on October 29th. The money that you donate will go directly to Snow City Arts and will support the work that they do. Anyone that donates to my fundraising page will enter a raffle. The prize - I will cook you and a friend/partner/child the vegetarian dinner of your choice.

Any amount helps! For example:

- $10 can purchase 15 boxes of colored pencils to give to patients in isolation
- $15 can purchase two packs of Ukulele strings
- $25 can purchase a spindle of CD’s to record and share students’ musical accomplishments with families
-$50 can purchase a pack of Model Magic, a high quality non-allergenic, non-firing sculpting clay that is a staple of Snow City Arts workshops. We cannot keep enough of this stuff in stock!
- $ 75 can purchase an ink cartridge to print high quality copies of student work to share with family members
- $100 can purchase high quality sets of pens and sketchbook for 5 students in isolation to create art while bedridden
