I’m running the 2026 Chicago Marathon with Special Children's Charities because this cause means so much to me. Being a high school special education teacher has truly changed my life. Every day, I get to work with some of the most amazing students who inspire me with their strength, humor, and determination. They’ve taught me more about patience, perspective, and compassion than I could ever put into words. Watching them overcome challenges and celebrate their successes has shaped not only the way I teach, but the way I see the world.
I chose to run with Special Children’s Charities because of their strong commitment to inclusion. They create programs and opportunities that ensure individuals with special needs are not just supported, but truly included, celebrated for who they are, and given the chance to shine. That mission reflects what I strive to do in my classroom every single day.
Running the 2026 Chicago Marathon is more than just a personal goal, it’s a way for me to honor my students and advocate for a more inclusive community. Your donation, no matter the size, helps make that possible and directly supports programs that change lives through inclusion, opportunity, and support.
Again, thank you for supporting the thousands of participants with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Chicago!
