I’ve been a runner since high school, and over the years it has become so much more than a sport for me. Running is my meditation, my stress-relief, and my way to reconnect with myself. Every mile brings clarity, peace, and strength.

I chose to run for Special Children’s Charities because I believe every person deserves the opportunity to grow and thrive through art, music, and sports. Since 1969, Special Children’s Charities has been a driving force for inclusion and empowerment for children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities throughout Chicago. They continue to break barriers and redefine what’s possible, serving as a powerful symbol of acceptance and opportunity in every corner of our city.

As a mom of three girls, two already actively exploring their talents in art and sports, and one sweet little one still discovering the world. I am deeply inspired by the mission to foster confidence, creativity, athleticism, and joy in every child. All children deserve the chance to participate, belong, and shine.

The sense of accomplishment, inclusion, and joy that comes from the marathon experience reflects exactly what Special Children’s Charities strives to provide to thousands of individuals across all 77 Chicago neighborhoods. Together, one mile at a time, we can help build a more inclusive Chicago.
