Over the past several years, I have had the privilege of becoming more involved with organizations like Special Children's Charities and Special Olympics, organizations committed to connecting people with intellectual and developmental disabilities through sports and physical activity and spreading a culture of inclusion, acceptance, and joy. Working in Chicago Public Schools, I know what it means to have partner organizations working to provide opportunities for students to get engaged and connected outiside of school.
I'm endlessly inspired by my very good friend (and future Brother-in-Law!) James Keith, who's been a leader among Special Olympics athletes and has taught me and many others the value of making sports and competition inclusive and welcoming for all.
I couldn't be more excited to support such an impactful organization and to run this race with such an amazing team. SO much appreciation to anyone able to donate or share this page with others.

Since 1969, Special Children’s Charities has been the driving force behind inclusion and empowerment for children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities throughout Chicago.
Special Children’s Charities aims to transcend boundaries and redefine possibilities by serving as a symbol of empowerment and inclusivity within both the disability community and the City of Chicago.
The spirit of accomplishment, inclusion, and joy that are part of the marathon experience are what we strive to provide for thousands of our participants in all 77 Chicago neighborhoods. With your help, we are creating a more inclusive Chicago–one mile at a time.
Again, thank you for supporting the thousands of participants with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Chicago!
