This fall, my brother David and I will be running the 2026 Chicago Marathon for Special Children's Charities.

This cause has long been close to my family's heart, but running this race takes on a special meaning this year as David runs in honor of his childhood friend, Eddie Sitzman. Eddie's effusive joy, deep commitment to competition, and steady friendship left a lasting mark on David and many others in the Oak Park community.

Special Children's Charities has been a driving force for inclusion and empowerment for children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities throughout Chicago. Every dollar raised helps ensure more kids like Eddie get the opportunity they deserve.
