Hi my name is Hannah Renner, and I am excited to announce that I am planning to run the 2026 Chicago Marathon with Special Children’s Charities. Through running, I have found a strong sense of community and connection to a sport that requires dedication, discipline, and hard work. I credit much of my growth and success to my high school team, whose motivation pushed me to continue challenging myself beyond high school. I am especially excited to take on this journey alongside one of my closest friends, making the experience even more meaningful. I am running not only for myself, but for Special Children’s Charities, an organization that expands access to inclusive athletic, arts, educational, and enrichment opportunities for children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities throughout Chicago—programs that help participants build confidence, form friendships, grow skills, and thrive in community settings. Throughout high school I had the privilege of working with this organization in partnership with my high school's adaptive class. From this experience I learned the importance of supporting others, so that everyone has the opportunity to find a sense of community—just as I have found mine through running. Any amount of donation, no matter the size, would be greatly appreciated and will directly help support this incredible organization and the children and families it serves!
