Running the Chicago Marathon is a dream I’ve carried in my heart for a long time.
But this year, it means something even deeper.
I have the honor of running on behalf of Special Children’s Charities, an organization that for over five decades has empowered children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities across Chicago’s 77 neighborhoods.
I am not just training for 26.2 miles. I am running with purpose.
I am running for incredible children who face challenges every day with courage, resilience, and light.
Each mile represents:
-
A child who deserves to be seen
-
A family who deserves support
-
A future built on compassion and inclusion
The spirit of a marathon, perseverance, joy, and belonging, is the same spirit this organization brings to thousands of participants each year. Together, we are building a more inclusive Chicago, one mile at a time.
This journey is bigger than a finish line.
It is about showing these children that their lives, their dreams, and their stories matter.
Thank you for helping create a world where everyone belongs.
