Building an Inclusive Chicago - One Mile at a Time

Why I'm running for #TeamSCC

Running the Chicago Marathon this year is more than a personal milestone for me; it’s an opportunity to be part of something much bigger. I’m raising money for Team Special Children’s Charities because I believe in building a city where inclusion isn’t an afterthought, but a foundation.

Special Children’s Charities has long been a force for creating opportunities for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities across Chicago. Their work goes beyond programs, it creates spaces where people are seen, supported, and empowered to fully participate in their communities.

As I train for 26.2 miles, I’m reminded that access, support, and opportunity should never be out of reach for anyone. Every mile I run is in support of expanding those opportunities across all 77 neighborhoods—helping ensure that more individuals can experience the same sense of belonging, confidence, and joy.

With your support, we’re not just running a race; we’re helping shape a more inclusive Chicago, one mile at a time.

If you’re able, please consider donating to support this cause, no amount is too small and every contribution truly makes a difference.
