I’m running the 2026 Chicago Marathon to raise funds for Special Children’s Charities (SCC), an organization dedicated to creating inclusive opportunities for children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. SCC provides year-round programs in sports, health, education, and community engagement, helping individuals build confidence, independence, and meaningful connections.

This cause is incredibly close to my heart. My aunt, Renee, has Down syndrome, and 2026 is shaping up to be a milestone year for her in so many meaningful ways. She’ll be turning 50 and celebrating her 30th work anniversary at Target — an achievement our entire family is incredibly proud of.

Because 2026 represents so many important milestones for Renee, running the 2026 Chicago Marathon and fundraising through Special Children’s Charities in her honor means the world to me. This race is a way to recognize Renee’s accomplishments while supporting an organization that advocates for individuals with disabilities and their families.
