I'm running for a cause and training with PURPOSE as I set out to accomplish a longstanding goal of running a marathon. Please know that your donation, will not only allow me the opportunity to accomplish this goal, but will more importantly directly support a tremendous cause whose mission is to serve a traditionally underserved community. I am so proud to represent Team Special Children's Charities this year and look forward to watching what this organization is able to do with these proceeds. Since 1969, Special Children’s Charities has been a driving force behind inclusion and empowerment for children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities across Chicago. Their mission to transcend boundaries and redefine possibilities resonates deeply with me—not just as a runner, but as someone who believes strongly in supporting underserved communities.

Children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities are often overlooked when it comes to resources and opportunities. Yet with the right support, funding, and advocacy, they can thrive in ways that positively impact families, neighborhoods, and our entire city. Running with #TeamSCC is my way of helping raise critical funds for a community that truly deserves greater visibility, inclusion, and opportunity.

Throughout my life, I’ve always enjoyed supporting children through student organizations, professional initiatives, and church involvement. Serving others—especially kids—has consistently been meaningful to me. This marathon gives me the chance to combine that passion with a tangible way to make a difference for thousands of participants across all 77 Chicago neighborhoods.

The spirit of accomplishment, inclusion, and joy that defines the marathon experience is the same spirit Special Children’s Charities works to provide every single day. With your support, we can help create a more inclusive Chicago—one mile at a time.
