Chicago has always been home. From growing up in Ravenswood Manor to the miles I’ve logged across this city, the city has shaped me. But this year, the marathon feels different.
I recently became a dad, and holding my son has given me a brand-new perspective on what it means to grow up with support, opportunity, and a community that cheers you on. It has made me even more passionate about ensuring that every child in Chicago—regardless of the challenges they face—has the chance to discover their own strength and reach their full potential.
Supporting Special Children’s Charities
That is why I am incredibly proud to be raising money for Special Children’s Charities. Since 1969, they have been the driving force behind inclusion and empowerment for children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities throughout Chicago.
They aim to transcend boundaries and redefine possibilities, serving as a symbol of inclusivity within both the disability community and our city. The spirit of accomplishment and joy that makes the marathon so special is exactly what this organization strives to provide for thousands of participants across all 77 Chicago neighborhoods.
With your support, we are creating a more inclusive Chicago—one mile at a time.
