I’m so excited to be running the Chicago Marathon this year in support of Special Children’s Charities.
As a child life specialist, I have the privilege of working with kids and families every day in the hospital. The children I meet are some of the most brave, kind, funny, and resilient people I’ve ever known. Even while going through incredibly difficult experiences, they continue to find ways to smile, be positive, play, and just be kids. They inspire me more than I can put into words.
That’s why this race means so much to me. I’m running every mile in honor of the kids I work with in hospitals—and all children with intellectual and developmental disabilities across Chicago—who face challenges with strength and courage every single day.
Since 1969, Special Children’s Charities has been a driving force for inclusion and empowerment, supporting children and adults with disabilities in all 77 Chicago neighborhoods. Their mission to create a more inclusive, joyful, and supportive community is something I deeply believe in, both personally and professionally.
If you’re able to support my fundraising, it would mean so much—not just to me, but to the incredible kids and families this organization serves. Every donation helps create opportunities, resources, and experiences that allow these children to thrive.
Together, we can help build a more inclusive Chicago—one mile at a time.
If you wish to make a donation via check, please send to the address below and they will credit the donation to my fundraising page. Please make sure to include my name (or the person you would like to support) in the memo section.
Please make all checks payable to Special Children's Charities.
