My big brother Jesse is special to me in many ways beyond being a special needs adult.
He makes me laugh, he loves people, he loves Godzilla and he loves Mexican music.
During his teen years, Jesse participated in Special Olympics in Northwest Indiana. That's why I am dedicating this Chicago Marathon to my big brother and running for Special Olympics Chicago/Special Children's Charities.
I believe connecting people through sports and physical activity is instrumental in spreading a culture of inclusion, acceptance, and joy. Special Olympics Chicago/Special Children's Charities is working to create a more inclusive Chicago... one mile at a time!
Team Special Olympics Chicago is a group of runners dedicated to supporting thousands of Chicagoans with intellectual and developmental disabilities. I am proud to be a member of this team.
I hope that you consider supporting my efforts, and am so grateful for your devoted support to our life-changing mission.
I know times are tight so please -- if you feel so inclined -- please help me reach my fundraising goal. Any amount will be appreciated.
You can make a donation here but if you wish to make a donation via check, please send to the address below and they will credit the donation to my fundraising page. Please make sure to include my name (or the person you would like to support) in the memo section.
Please make all checks payable to Special Children's Charities.
