Thank you for your support as I prepare to complete my 25th consecutive Chicago Marathon! As this year's race coincides with my 50th year of life, I am excited and grateful that I have now been fortunate to participate in this event for 1/2 of my lifetime! This world-class event which includes athletes from over 100 countries has brought me a great sense of pride and happiness over the years and has helped me forge friendships with many. Similarly, the goal of Special Olympics is to help their athletes to connect through sports and physical activity as an instrumental way to spread a culture of inclusion, acceptance, and joy.
Team Special Olympics Chicago is a group of runners dedicated to supporting thousands of Chicagoans with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and I am proud to be a member of this team.
Through my fundraising efforts and that of hundreds of other runners, Special Olympics Chicago/Special Children's Charities is working to create a more inclusive Chicago... one mile at a time!
