In 2012, when Maggie had to spend 5 days at Children's Hospital in St. Paul, we immediately felt the impact of their philosophy of "Patient-and Family-Centered Care" . The staff demonstrated a deep respect for her and the whole family as key players on Maggie's healthcare team. Our comfort - both physical and emotional - was clearly a significant concern to everyone we interacted with. Nurses, doctors, and even volunteer dogs, all took time to inform and reassure us during a frightening experience.
Having a child in the hospital can be a nightmare for parents and families. We wish that all families could have access to the support, skill, and caring that we received. Please help us "pay it forward" by pledging to support Jon during the Twin Cities Marathon on October 4.
