Here's Your Chance to Change the World!
Teaneck Packathon for Haiti is a free, hands-on event where volunteers pack school lunches to feed 500 needy Haitian students through 2020! It's a big deal for them. Thanks to the dependable meals we've sent, most kids now read better than their parents. They no longer have to worry about being sent away to work. They demonstrate every day what courage and hard work can accomplish. The process is working! You can be part of it by helping us financially and by joining the effort November 9.
The 7th Annual Teaneck Packathon for Haiti will keep the meals flowing to two schools. We plan to send 123,000 meals to fill a need that keeps growing because more kids are attending school, getting an education and eating the meals we pack!
This year, we must raise $57,000 to cover the costs of:
- Rice, beans, dried vegetables and vitamins for volunteers to pack into115,000 school lunches for Monday -Thursday,
- Haitian-sourced Friday lunches to support local farms and businesses;
- Completing 10 new classrooms, now underway.
Now here's the deal: When you donate to Teaneck Packathon for Haiti, your gift also brings hope right here in Bergen County. It enables us to see both our amazing diversity--from the richest to the poorest, people of every generation, every faith, every ethnicity and every skill level--and our shared drive to help others. It's a rare opportunity that is only possible if we can keep the event free. Teaneck Packathon is an important day for Bergen County as we celebrate our common purpose. Join us if you can November 9 in the back gym of Grace Lutheran Church, 1200 River Road in Teaneck, New Jersey.
Please DONATE NOW to keep all 500 students in Haiti, in school and eating every weekday through 2020, and to bring our community together.
