Running became a hobby of mine after I watched my girlfriend Emily run a 5k race one cold March morning in 2012.  Jan 1, 2013 I ran my first 5k race.  Fast forward to February of 2015.  Emily brought me to a small event for “Children’s Hospitals and Clinics.”  I went there to support her as she planned to sign up for a 10 mile race for the fundraiser, but before the end of the night, we had both signed up for the Twin Cities Marathon that following September!

Not only was I prepping for my first Marathon, I was doing it for a cause too!  It was a long hard battle training for it but in the end it was worth it.  

I don’t have kids of my own, but I do have nieces and nephews, and friends with children of their own.  I decided to take up this challenge again with Grandma’s Marathon in June, and I am raising money for Children’s that could potentially help any of these little ones should the unexpected happen, and help them put all of their focus on caring for their loved ones.
