I'm so looking forward to embarking on another adventure training and raising funds for this amazing cause! I ran Grandma's half in 2017 for the first time and it was truly a remarkable experience. To throw on the Team Superstars tank and run alongside some seriously powerful, and fun runners, was beyond comparison. To know that each of these runners has their own personal story about why they are running creates a kinship like none other. I run for all of the children and their families who have and are being treated at Children's Hospital, and the more I lean into these fundrasing efforts the more amazing families I meet and am inspired by.

My son, Zayden (3) sparked my motivation. In 2015 Zayden was born with a complex congential heart defect called Tricuspid Atresia. He had his first heart surgery at 10 days old, his second at 7 months. This year is especially monumental for us as Zayden's third heart surgery is tentatively scheduled for October of 2018. He's had several other procedures and both of his surgeries were surrounded by complications. I wouldn't be able to combat the anxiety surrounding the mental preparation of another surgery without my faith, running, and the incredible care at Children's. 

I can't even begin to tell you what a treasure Zayden is. He's sweet, smart, kind, and incredibly talented. I am completely in love with my child, and I firmly believe this world is a better place with him in it. I know there are so many other families who feel that exact same emotion. Team Superstars runs for them. 

In 2017 Team Superstars raised over $177,000!! Holy cow, right?! I personally raised an even $2k and boy would I love to top that this year. Please consider supporting this incredible cause.
