DARKNESS. FEAR. UNCERTAINTY. ROLLERCOASTER. FIGHT. SURVIVE. THRIVE. HOPE. FAITH. LOVE. MIRACLES. RESILIENCE. DON'T LOOK BACK. ONWARD & UPWARD. 3 STEPS BACK, 1 BABY STEP FORWARD.....NEVER GIVE UP!

The above words describe three of my five children's birth stories; Three children who endured harrowing life battles early on in life at birth at Children's Hospital in St. Paul, Minnesota. 

My twin boys, Emmett & Owen ( now age 13) were born prematurely at 30 weeks old after a month of hospital bedrest due to a ruptured amniotic sac. My 'preemie princes' fought many medical hurdles early on before going home at 9 weeks old. My daugher Amelie ( age 4) endured a harrowing birth trauma due to Prolapse Cord & Severe Hypoxic Ischemic Encepalopathy (severe brain / body organ oxygen deprivation); Amelie fought for her life for 6 weeks in the NICU before going home. The details in our childrens' birth stories & miraculous fight go 'beyond the beyond', leaving us forever impacted & grateful. 

Thanks to the amazing doctors & NICU nurses at Children's Hospital, our children survived; They not only survived, but they are all thriving today! What was a parent's worst nightmare, is now a MIRACLE story times 3 in our family!!  We will never forget all that we endured as a family & are forever grateful for the medical advances & loving medical care and attention that were invaluable factors in our children's survival.   

I am honored to be a proud and healthy Mommy to 5 children; All of whom are MIRACLES! A few of them just had to prove early on just how much more life is worth fighting for! We are forever grateful & humbled to embrace each and every day of life as a GIFT in our family.

I will be running this Half Marathon for all of the children who can't run, for all of the families who didn't get to bring their precious babies home & for my MIRACLE BABIES!
